Fun At The Parade

I hope your summer is going fabulously! Earlier this month, I got to take in the Steinbach Pioneer Day’s Parade from a whole new angle – as part of the parade. It was so much fun so I thought I would dedicated today’s letter to a recap of the parade.

Thank-yous go out to:

  • Marc Atiyolil for the use of his car and for his services as our driver
  • Ultimate Look and their wonderful stylists for styling the bride and flower girls’ hair
  • Michael’s Formal Wear for providing the groom’s tux with cumberbunds and ties for the boys.
  • Lindsey’s Flowers for providing the bouquet and boutinneire
  • Moments By Marian for taking photos for us

Here are a few great photos from the event for your enjoyment.

To Late for Supper?

Dear Diva,

We are getting married outdoors over looking a lake and the view at sunset is amazing! I would like to have my wedding at sunset followed by a sit-down dinner reception. This would mean supper would not be served until after 8:30. My mom thinks this may be to late for a supper reception and that we either need an earlier wedding or a cake and punch reception, neither of which is very appealing to me! What would be a good compromise?

Sunset weddings are definitely gorgeous, I love your style already! While 8:30 is a little later then most people would eat supper, it’s not impossible to pull off. First, make sure the reception time is clearly marked on the invitation. This will let guests know to have a snack before hand. You can serve a full course meal if you wish, but a later supper reception is perfectly suited for a lighter menu – almost like a “heavy” lunch idea. Small sandwiches, fruit platters, salads, seafood, etc make a great late evening supper. If you plan on having a heavier meal, a note with the invitations will let guests know so that they don’t over-snack before hand as well.

Be Fabulous,
